.: Note to Self #2

Not using a tripod, is almost as amateur as f5.6 is.

:. Note to self:

Nothing says "amateur" like f5.6.

... does not make it "art."

And there's more to life than "bits per channel..."

: Your Inspiration & Sustenance

You're hated most by those who envy your nature, but you mustn't ever deny what you truly are.

Don't allow yourself to waste away, you can only live off the blood of rats for so long.

Your natural feeding habits are not as repulsive as one might think, in fact it's what secretly intrigues others most about you. Drink what you crave and you will be respected for it. Drink what is expected of you and you will be forgotten quickly.

You will be hated either way.

Do not sell your integrity at the price of conformity.

Always remember you're not the same as them on the inside, afterall you have different nourishment requirements.

You're not a freak. A freak is one who denies his/her own instincts.

You're a vampire and I know you must be thirsty. I just want you to know it's okay to drink.

Drink with the hunger of a foetus and the innocence of a child.

Drink without regret.

Never look back

: False Prophets - Sacrosanctum Pixelum

My beloved Children of the Holy Photographic Medium -- please join hands and repeat after me:

We are not artists.

We are not -- artists.

We are mouse

pushers.

Our purpose in this world is nothing more than to push our mouse around. Our world is our pad, and nothing more.

We will be heard with the sound of ten thousand mouse clicks. The sound of clicking mice is our Salvation. Our mouse-click is our voice, we will fill the world with our clicks.

If a sneeze is one tenth of an orgasm then ten clicking mice will equal one hundred sneezes.

We are not artists. We are but humble slaves to the Holy Pixel.

Digital means will destroy conventional photographics just as the invention of Photography put an end to the art of Painting, just as the inkjet printer put an end to Printmaking and the art of the Book.

Fear not my Children for with every click of every mouse, with every cleansing of pixel data from thrice-saved jpegs and unsharp masks we will grow stronger. We must have faith as our ranks increase by ones and zeros; our church is strong and built of Adobe mortar, our Algorithm is pure.

Please turn to Chapter 21 and read with me:

"The Algorithm will remove all the red from their eyes and wrinkles will be no more. There will be no more discoloration, neither shall there be hair, nor pore, nor texture of any kind -- the days of Film have passed away."

We no longer need know the ways of composing an image or metering for the Shadow -- those Evils also are from the former days of Film.

~

The above blasphemies came to me in a dream, a dream of the future to come. A dream of False Prophets.

Stay with me, Brothers and Sisters. I know the road has been long but you've found a place here and you're welcome to stay.

I will not lead you astray.

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti...

Amen.

~ St. Veronica
